CSDR licence

CSDR plays a pivotal role for post-trade harmonisation efforts in Europe, as it will enhance the legal and operational conditions for cross-border settlement within the EU.

One way the CSD Regulation is designed to achieve its objectives is by requiring all CSDs to apply for a licence to operate. In order to obtain a licence, CSDs must adhere to a rigorous set of requirements that guarantee their own viability and establish a safe environment for their users.

Euroclear Bank, Euroclear Finland, Euroclear Sweden and the Euroclear ESES CSDs have all successfully obtained their CSD licences.
