The sun pampered runners at Töölönlahti on Friday, 17 May, when Finland’s largest corporate sports event, the Edenred Company Marathon, kicked off. Euroclear Finland participated in the running event with three teams.

“At Euroclear, this has become somewhat of a tradition for us to participate. This time, we had one competitive team and two teams that approached the race more casually. Personally, I’ve been involved at least six times. The best part is running for a good cause and, of course, the friendly competition among colleagues and other corporate runners. One of the runners commented that this is the best event for boosting team spirit at the workplace,” says Arno Illukka, Head of Technology Solutions at Euroclear Finland.

Laura Leppähaara, Product Manager, Euroclear Finland:

“The Company Marathon is a community-oriented, low-threshold event where the best thing is to do good together. We form our teams across team and department boundaries, allowing us to get to know colleagues we don’t work with every day. People are in high spirits, and yet they can experience the thrill of competition and push their limits if they want.”

The Company Marathon is now organized by the Finnish Olympic Committee’s business unit in collaboration with event partners. The goal is to create a feel-good running event centered around community and physical activity. In the marathon, teams collectively cover approximately a marathon distance along the Töölönlahti route in three different categories.
